Can you make your own ring tones for Virgin Mobile LG Rumor Touch?

I just got the The Lg Rumor Touch And I Heard You Can Only Use Default Ring Tones. Is This True?Can you make your own ring tones for Virgin Mobile LG Rumor Touch?
I have this exact phone and the first thing you need to know is that this phone does not use mp3 ringtones. So what you need to do is download a mp3 tone, once downloaded right click the tone, choose rename and take off the .mp3 and change it to .3g2

now plug up your phone to your computer, phone has to have a memory card, and place the 3g2 tone to your memory card. Then on your phone go to main menu%26gt;tools%26gt;mass storage%26gt;more%26gt;assign and click on the 3g2 tone and assign it to whatever you want. You can then find it in Assigned Media when assigning ringtones.

Now to get message tone follow the same process but change the extension to .qcp Once this is done attach the qcp tone in an email. I use Gmail and yahoo mail. Now once attached send it to your10digitphonenumber@vmpix.com and you should receive it in a mms text message. When you receive it click on it and choose Assign, DO NOT SAVE. once its assigned you can find it in My Audio when assigning ringtones.
