Because your phone isn't a smartphone, it has a very specific user interface that the developer would have to crack and find a way to get a virus in. Most virus developers are kind of lazy and wouldn't care nearly that much to work so hard to create that sort of virus, especially because there are not that many people with your phone. So no one really even makes viruses for your phone. Unless you have an arch enemy that happens to be a computer genius/virus creator that wants to harm you, I think your safe.

It is a fun phone, just sucks it does not have an "End" button, you have to keep hitting the "Back" button to get out of all of the menus and when the phone locks after the 30 secs on no use, it will stay where ever you left it, on your contacts, your messages. i have the same phone and it should do it by itself..there isnt a setting for it...or do you mean password lock...if you mean password lock just go to settings and it should say LOCK PHONE and you can set your own pass code so when it dims out you have to set it again
i have the same phone and it should do it by itself..there isnt a setting for it...or do you mean password lock...if you mean password lock just go to settings and it should say LOCK PHONE and you can set your own pass code so when it dims out you have to set it again

LG Rumor Touch from Sprint: can I replace my faulty charger?
My phone died the day after I got it so I put it on the charger all night. I woke up the next morning and nothing had happened, it was still dead. I tried charging it on my mom's Evo charger (same mini-usb tip) and it worked, so it has to be the charger itself.

Hold the app down with ur finger. All of your apps will then start to shake and x's will be on the top side of ur apps. Click on the x for the app u want to delete. To put everything back to normal, press the home button. Hope that helps!

I have the Virgin Mobile Rumor Touch Phone. I can send and recieve texts but sometimes the messages come through as things such as #%^%26amp;#. You cannot see the message the person you are texting texted you. It just started doing this. Can anyone help me solve the problem???

I converted a short mp3 song into 3g2 as a test, transferred the 3g2 file to my phone's miniSD card then assigned it as a ringtone to a contact. And it worked! LG Rumor Touch - Not receiving texts at all or late?
I just got my LG Rumor Touch from Virgin Mobile a few days ago, and I'm not receiving texts at all, or they're coming here late!
I woke up this morning to 20 new texts that I should have gotten yesterday. It's getting really bad.
It seems to be happening ever since I dropped my phone, but other than the texting and the wonky media player, it seems to be working perfectly..

Tried the hubpages, and got free RINGtones, but when you go to use a message tone, there's no option to go into the video section on the phone to select one.. SO, does anyone know how to get free message tones by sending the the "my audio" folder, or something like that?

Okay since you know this phone uses 3g2 ringtones you need to also know this phone uses qcp message tones. But to get them in the My Audio is a lil different. First rename the extension to .qcp then attach it an email. Gmail and yahoo have worked for me... Once attached send it to your phones email which is yourphonenumber@vmpix.com after doin this you should receive the tone in a mms message. Click on the attachment. You can play it first to make sure you like it... But to get it in My Audio you must click it then choose Assign, DO NOT SAVE. once you assign it it will automatically be placed in My Audio. Hope this helps. I have the same phone

I recently got this phone like a month ago, and for the first couple of weeks, facebook worked fine. Now when I log in, it keeps telling me memory shortage and to restart the browser which I always do. Then I tried resetting browser settings and that doesn't work and even deleted songs from my phone to free some space and still nothing. I don't know how to fix it. Yes you can... Get on the opera mini web browser and go to downloadmusicfree.org and select mp3, enter the song you want and search... When it comes up click download to the far right and another page will pop up select download again and a Lil menu will pop up asking where to save... Select memory card. (if you dont have one get one, won't work without it)

To answer your first question: It seems like a fine phone. From first glance, it's very sleek and nice. It's going to be great for text messaging if you do that like crazy. There's only the physical slide out keyboard though, there isn't an onscreen keyboard option.
Second question: Well, how many text messages do you send a month. If it's anything under 100 I'd say no. But, I think it really depends on who you are. Check how much you are texting a month and decide from there what is right for you. 1200 minutes - are you on your own plan? If you call that much I'd say go for it. Looking at the plan options, it depends. They only give you three options.

Hi, sorry you're experiencing these problems. I have the rumor touch also (with sprint) and I experienced this problem. Assuming you got your phone fairly recently (this was one of the problems that occured a few months after I started using it) I'm going to guess it happens to you maybe every other day. Let me just tell you, im afraid it only gets worse. You'll go from sliding it and it restarting, to a big messaging problem. When you try to send a text message, the circle that says the message is sending just goes around and around for a minute and a half, then tells you "the message cannot be sent". Very frustrating. When this happens, you must open the phone, take out the battery for 30 seconds, put it back in, and reset your phone. As if this isn't frustrating enough, it gets worse. In the last 2 weeks, my calibration has been absolutely horrific. (if you don't know, calibration is where the cursor goes when you physically touch the screen). When you get a notification and are prompted to "unlock" the phone by sliding the bar at the bottom of the screen, you'll see that you cannot even do this. If you hold the lock key on the right side of the phone, it'll unlock but your calibration problem will force you to slide open the phone and use the keyboard arrows to navigate through the phone. If this wasn't bad enough, I've found it is IMPOSSIBLE to send a text message. There is no "send" button, and when I tap "done" it thinks I'm tapping in the middle of the screen. I've redone the calibration test endless times with no results. I hate to say it, but this phone is a POS (excuse my language). Your best bet would be going into a virgin mobile store and telling them about the problems. If not, you can go on eBay and buy a phone, bring it to VM and tell them you'd like to activate that one instead. Very sorry about this, best of luck!! Xx

I have tested out many apps from different sites for this phone. Most of them dont work. Try umnet. Most games from there work and very few apps work properly though. You need to try Silica Gel Packets to dry out your phone. There was a good article on associatedcontent.com that explains how to dry a wet cell phone, iPods, or any electronics.

You need to place your phone in a zip lock bag with Silica Gel Packets. Silica Gel will remove all the moisture from the phone and its components, something air drying will not do!

How do I get music onto my LG Rumor touch?
i have the usb cord hooked to my pone and all but can some please to tell me what to do next. and if theres a website to download free music or can i use cds.

To get music from your computer to a phone using usb you need to have a microSD card installed on the phone. Using the cord, you connect the phone as mass storage device.
This is easy.
Insert the card into the phone.
Plug the cord into the phone's charger port, the other end into a usb plug (like an iPod).
On the phone, go into settings and tools, then tools,
Look for something that says USB Mass Storage - click that.
On your PC screen you should see a box that asks you (among other things) if you want to browse the folders/contents of a newly connected drive (that's the card on the phone; the PC has just detected it). You want to browse the folders.
The card will pop up on your screen as a removable drive (which is what it is).
Explore the card through the PC - you should see a number of folders there. You want to copy your music to the "my music" folder.
Then disconnect.
As for getting free music on your PC to begin with...
I can't advise you waht to do w/o Yahoo removing my answer.
The big problem is that somebody is bound to recommend you use peer-share software, esp. frostwire. These programs can endanger your computer, and they are not even that good at getting free music.
The only good peer-share had been winmx, but even that seems to be having issues these days.
For similar reasons I would not suggest you use Torrenst since you still have to fo to torrents sites where it seems they're always trying to trick you into downloading stuff ofther than torrent files.
You can easily copy music files from people you know using a flash drive or by "ripping" from CD's using windows media player. these aren't strictly speaking legal but are not as clearly illegal (or dangerous) as rile sharing.How do I get music onto my LG Rumor touch?

yes you do need a memory card and ventones does not work for virgin mobile. Even if you could download free ringtones this phone does not support mp3 ringtones so go to the store and get one. After a month of experimenting i have finally figured out a solution for free ringtones for this phone. So even if its just a 1 or 2 gb micro sd card get one. You can get it for under $10 and then read this: i have been pasting this to alot of questions lol

2. Download opera mini at m.opera.com (if you
havent already done it) its free. It is a mobile
browser which makes all of this downloading

3. Go to www.freeringtonesonline.net (on the
opera mini browser) and register. Its also free.
4. Search whatever ringtone you want. Once
you find what you are looking for then you
should notice to the right of the song you will
see the "download" button. Click it and wait a
few secs. A menu will pop up asking where to
save your download. Select memory card.
Note: this ringtone is mp3 format and cannot
be used as a ringtone (i will show you how to
make it useful)
5. Now go to www.online-convert..com (also
from your opera mini browser) This is a online
file converter.
6. You will see "video converter" under it click
"select target format" and choose 3g2. Then
click "go"
Note: LG rumor touch and most virgin mobile
phones support 3g2 video
format as ringtone format
7. Scroll down and it will ask what file you want

I have an LG Rumor Touch and I want it to only vibrate for text messages, Help?
I want to have it where I can still receive volume on phone calls, and when you set it to "No Ringer" the vibrate doesn't work either.I have an LG Rumor Touch and I want it to only vibrate for text messages, Help?
OK, I did some experimenting.
It appears that it is all or nothing.
To make it vibrate on messages and calls, you have to switch it to "vibrate all" which is the phone with the squiggles profile when you turn the volume up or down from the side buttons.
There is also the Beep and Vibrate profile option as well, which has easy access from up/down volume buttons on the side of the phone as well.

I just bought my Lg Rumor Touch (Virgin Mobile) and i noticed whenever i get a text it doesnt vibrate or ring. I set it to vibrate on all settings but nothing changes. I myself had the same problem with my LG Rumor Touch. I got sick of trying to fix it and just went to my cell phone carrier for them to fix the problem. It didn't take them more than 15 minutes to fix it.

I have the memory card in my phone already, USB and phone connected to the PC ,and I have Frostwire and iTunes downloaded. 5. Wait for the copy to complete. Disconnect and enjoy.
